Celebrate Restorative Justice Week 2012

12 Nov, 2012

The Church Council on Justice and Corrections of Québec, the Centre for Services in Restorative Justice, Montreal Community Chaplaincy and Montreal Southwest Community Ministries, invites you to celebrate Restorative justice week:

Sunday, November 18th at the Saint Joseph's Oratory

After the 11am Mass in the Basilica, and a nice meal together ($5) in the Pichette room, we will have the pleasure of meeting the Ollin Theatre Transformation team. With the help of stories shared by the public and the Restorative Justice Week theme, the OTT team will perform using a play- back theater style.

Tuesday, November 20th at 7pm; 1444 Union Street

Open Door, a support group for prisoners and ex-prisoners, invites you to be part of a great community outreach by joining the group for a special presentation. Tim Smart, a prison chaplain in Cowansville, will present a film called “Metamorphis” on victim-offender encounters and what can happen when two individuals meet after a crime has been committed. This event will be held in english only.

Wednesday, November 21st at 7pm; La Petite Cuillère café, 3603 St-Denis street (corner Sherbrooke)

Café-Jasette presents: ‘What if crime affects us all?’ Fabien Torres, Daniel Benson (ex-convict) and Sylvie Vanasse, have participated in victim-offender meetings and would like to share their experience of a restorative justice approach. Music and poetry reading by Pascale Matheron.

Friday, November 23rd at 5:30pm; Institut de pastorale des Dominicains, 2715 Côte Sainte-Catherine

Come and celebrate as we end an eventful week with a pleasant meal (voluntary contribution). Artistry by Opération placement jeunesse (OPJ) and workshop on “How do I apply restorative justice in my daily life? “.
