MSCM Journée de Ressourcement 2015

05 Aug, 2015

MSCM Journée de Ressourcement (more popularly known as our Summer Picnic) took place last Saturday 1 August, on a beautiful sunny day.  As usual we defied the weather report -which called for afternoon showers- and spent some 4-5 hours enjoying good food, even better company and  beautiful surroundings by the scenic Two Mountains river.

With some thirty participants attending this year, we missed the guys from the three pens as they were unfortunately not allowed out for the first time in the many years of this MSCM annual tradition.  We hope that next year we will be back to full strength with our full complement of members.

Aside from the fellowship provided in sharing food and conversation (politics very much the focus given the pending elections), this year’s event was special in that we held a memorial for one of our long-time members – Chico – who died on 2 July 2015.  Many were the memories shared by the group as we remembered Chico’s life with us and recognized his importance to our community.   Notwithstanding the sadness of the occasion much laughter was shared as we recalled his life and many adventures and misadventures.

Chico (Leonard McGee) is buried at Cimetière St. François d’Assise -Plot number 160 – Section 06D – for anyone wishing to pay their respects.

We at MSCM look forward eagerly to next year’s event where we promise you wonderful food, beautiful weather and very good company.
