Kripalu Yoga with Francois

Everybody get up from your chairs! On June 10 Open Door was introduced to Kripalu Yoga and the basic tenets of Buddhism by Francois, who has been practicing yoga since he was a teenager and who is certified in Prison Yoga Training. Describing his own childhood difficulties, he led us through simple postures, breathing and meditation practices to help us deal with daily struggles and improve our health. Together we did the half-sun salutation, the warrior pose, the mountain pose, and a standing spinal twist that he said will add seven years to our lives! By the end of the evening we felt great!
